Daniel Warren McGowan's Obituary

Daniel Warren McGowanOn August 17th, 2001 Jesus reached out and took the hand of Daniel Warren McGowan and gathered him close to his heart, welcoming him into eternity. At that moment Danny and Jesus met face to face.

Danny McGowan joined his parents Mike and Mary Ann on April 11, 1999. Upon his arrival Danny's physician prophetically announced, "I have good news. You have a beautiful, healthy baby boy."

By the world's standard one would have seen Danny as flawed but in God's eyes he is a perfect diamond; a gem that reflects pure joy and innocence. Love is defined by Danny's exuberance for life and his contagious smile. Sharing the heart of his Lord, his very existence would bring people together becoming an icon of what is pure and true. Seizing life with passion he taught us how to love becoming a model of the childlike faith we need to fully know God.

Daniel Warren McGowanDanny's heart portrays the lives of his parents. Danny taught them the meaning of true, unconditional love; represented by his smile. No one could meet him and not be captivated by his charisma.

Danny's favorite things were to watch Veggie Tales, climb, and scale the furniture. His father would grin with pleasure as Danny grabbed his hammer to pound on his work bench. The magnetic draw of kissy bears captured Danny's imagination as he would often pull those he loved together giggling at their embrace.

Every night Danny's mother would pray as she tucked him to bed, "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you His peace." As Danny rests in the arms of the Lord Jesus, a mother's prayer has been answered.
