Since 1995, the Buddy Walk® has become the premier advocacy event for Down Syndrome and has become a major platform for inclusion in communities across the country.

In addition to fund raising, the purpose of Buddy Walk® is to raise acceptance and awareness of individuals with Down Syndrome on a community level and among their peers. Our vision is that all individuals with Down Syndrome be welcomed and included with fairness, enthusiasm and encouragement in their own communities and to support and help to educate families regarding Down Syndrome. While 7% of funds raised at the Missoula Buddy Walk are sent to the National Down Syndrome Society for education, research and advocacy, 93% of our fund raising has enabled Missoula Buddy Walk to assist over two dozen families with Down Syndrome in our Western Montana area who have critical medical financial emergencies or ongoing medical financial burden. Thanks to our generous Buddy Walk Sponsors, the Missoula Buddy Walk has been able to assist individuals with Down Syndrome in their area of greatest need.
